First of all, my friend Cami, has an AWESOME idea for an entry closet.
Isn't it beautiful? I love the paint color and the BeadBoard/Wainscoting.
I have the same problem at my house -- nobody uses hangers. I used to have a coat rack by the front door, but it looks so messy and it's in the way. I haven't done any painting or purchased any matching hooks yet, but I took what I had and put it in my closet. I think it works great! Our entry closet is really weird because it is over a stairwell so it has a 2 foot tall carpeted base thing in it. My kids can stand on it and hang their coats and backpacks on the coat racks inside. I also put a bin inside for gloves and hats and such. Best of all, I can close the closet, so my entryway always looks neat and tidy. Here's mine:
Last summer, we went to visit my mother-in-law, Patty. She had a GREAT idea for a jewelry organizer. You know those metal DVD/CD holders? She had one sitting on her bathroom counter with all of her earrings, watches, necklaces, bracelets, and even glasses hanging on it. I HAD to get one! I found one at the D.I. for $3.00. It doesn't hold pierced earrings, but I love it because it holds all my long dangly ones and keeps everything separated. Really nice at 8:47am on Sunday when church starts at 9am. Here's mine:

Also, I have several baskets in my bathroom closet. I got this idea from Zeke's Aunt, Barb.
One has hair "stuff": brushes, combs, spray bottle, scrunchies, headbands, etc. When I'm fixing the girls hair, I just grab the hair basket and take it to them. Nice for traveling because it's all ready to go and it has a lid with a zipper. (Originally, I bought it as a package of plastic Easter eggs and then saved the container).

The girls and I love to paint our toenails together.

The picture frame dangling earing one is cute. I don't think I have enough to fill a CD rack.
ReplyDeleteWith your pill picture it reminds me with all my kids vitamins I put them in a pill organizer. The daily ones that have S M T W T F S on the top of each little container (hope that makes sense). That way I don't have to open six bottles a day for their vitamins. Kaia's basket looks familiar. Luke doesn't have it as bad but with this weather it's kicking up. What all does she take?
Love that scripute, I'll have to use it in a post one of these days. I think we can all use extra orginization! Visiting from MMB.
ReplyDeleteLove both of those links; great ideas. I'm sort of a container a holic. Have you ever seen one of those adds for the Container Store; they make my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteI like the links Lacy. I was wondering if you knew Elizabeth Graves because she lives in Logan.
ReplyDeleteBRILLIANT! I love the coat closet- I hate hangers. Also loved the pill opening trick- I suck at that. Why do they make them nigh impossible to open when you're healthy let alone in a weakened state? silly.
